Nearing Nineveh, Raphael and Tobias go ahead of Sara to prepare the house, the dog following them, and Raphael tells Tobias to anoint his father's eyes with the fish's gall. Anna, watching the road, runs to embrace her son; Tobit stumbles to the door, and when Tobias applies the gall the whiteness peels away from his eyes and he sees his son. Blessing God who 'hast scourged, and hast taken pity on me', Tobit goes out to meet Sara at the gate of Nineveh, and the wedding is celebrated for seven days with great joy.
