Tobias Son of Tobit
About Tobias
Tobias was the son of Tobit and Anna, Israelite exiles in Nineveh. Sent by his blind father to recover money left in Media, he travelled with the angel Raphael, disguised as Azarias. On the way he caught a fish in the Tigris, married Sara the daughter of Raguel at Ecbatane, and drove away the demon Asmodeus by prayer and the angel's remedy. He came home to heal his father's eyes and later ended his days in Ecbatane. He is not the Tobiah who opposed Nehemiah.
