Raphael The Archangel Who Heals
About Raphael
Raphael is the angel sent by God in answer to the prayers of Tobit and Sara. Disguised as Azarias, a kinsman, he guided young Tobias to Media, taught him how to use the fish's heart, liver and gall, and bound the demon Asmodeus. Back in Nineveh he revealed himself as 'one of the seven holy angels, which present the prayers of the saints', told the family to bless God, and vanished. He is named only in the book of Tobit.

Spiritual Lessons from Raphael
Prayer Is Carried Before God
Raphael tells Tobit that he brought the remembrance of his prayers before the Holy One, and that he was with him when he left his dinner to bury the dead. Prayer and quiet good works are not lost; they are remembered.
Give Thanks to God, Not the Messenger
When father and son fall on their faces, Raphael turns them away from himself: he came by the will of God, and it is God they must bless and praise. The healer points beyond himself.
