Prudence with others fills this chapter. Do not strive with a mighty man or quarrel with a rich one, 'for gold hath destroyed many'; do not argue with a man full of tongue or jest with a rude one. Do not reproach a man who turns from sin, dishonour the old, or rejoice over a dead enemy, but 'remember that we die all.' Listen to the wise and to the elders, who learned from their fathers. Do not lend to a mightier man, stand surety beyond your power, go to law with a judge, travel with a reckless man, or open your heart to every man.
