Holy Wednesday Feast
The Wednesday of Holy Week, called Spy Wednesday in English use. Two things happen on it: a woman at Bethany pours ointment on Jesus' head, and Judas goes to the chief priests to settle a price.

The verses for the day
- Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, {there} shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.Matthew 26:13
- Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.John 13:1
The place

Bethany was a village on the eastern slope of the Mount of Olives, about 3 kilometers from Jerusalem. It was the home of Jesus' close friends Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead here, one of his most significant miracles. Jesus often stayed in Bethany during his visits to Jerusalem, and it was from here that he ascended to heaven.

Jerusalem is the holiest city in Judaism and Christianity, central to the biblical narrative. King David captured it and made it his capital, and his son Solomon built the First Temple there. It was the site of Jesus' crucifixion, resurrection, and the birth of the Christian church at Pentecost. The city has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times throughout history.
